How to use social media to build your brand.
First pick a platform…
Next write something…
No seriously though.
Your brand is who you are, what you do, and what you love.
Every company has its own brand.
Every person will have a different brand than someone else.
I know you decided to read this post because you want the nuts and bolts of how to put together and build a brand using social media.
This is what will help your blogs, email lists, podcasts, and YouTube channels grow.
So lets identify what your brand is first.
Your brand is how you stand out from everyone else that sells the same things as you.
Maybe your a skateboarder, or you love yoga, or you love reading.
Your brand does not have to be about the products that you sell.
Your brand is allowing you to create a connection with someone.
It makes you seem familiar to them, even if you never meet them in person.
This helps you develop loyalty and trust.
So ,what can you do on social media that will help you do all of this?
Share your story.
There’s a book that really helped me learn how to share my story and create a picture for people.
It’s called Building a Story Brand. You can check it out here.
What I love about this book, is that it helps you clarify your message.
Many times you are not clearly telling people how or what you can help them with.
When I first started building my business online, I didn’t really understand what this means.
I heard it from so many people.
I think when it comes to making money, we over think things way too much.
You want people to buy your products, and you want to make money.
You probably want to do this as fast as possible, right?
Unfortunately, you are going to have to show people more than just products and prices.
People can buy the same products that you sell from hundreds of other people.
Social media can make this happen faster.
On social media you have the ability to share your life in several different ways.
You also have the ability to share information in several different forms.
You can pick one form, or you can spread yourself out into several different areas.
Lets focus on Facebook.
Facebook has your profile, business page, groups, and even something called STORIES.
Social media has evolved in a way that allows you more than ever to share your message.
An important part of building your brand though sharing stories, is learning how you can blend in your lifestyle.
In your stories, you want to share:
-How you use your own products
-What your products have helped you or other people with
These are just a couple things that you want to share, there are more topics that you want to mix in there as well.
In a previous post I shared some things that you can do to help people get to know you more. You can check it out here.
Using all of the tools available on Facebook will help you reach more people.
The algorithm will decide who sees what you post.
The more active that you are, the more people watch and engage with your content, the farther your content will go.
If you are using all the tools to share what you do, you are giving yourself the best advantage.
As people follow along and watch, you will become known for whatever it is that you are sharing.
That’s your brand.
What niche do you want to become the go to person for?
Energy, weight loss, make up, financial services, etc….
Once you pick what niche you want to be known for, then you know what you need to blend into your content.
I know there’s a lot of information in this post.
Over then next few weeks I will be creating a series around this topic of building your brand to attract more leads and sales to your business.
I challenge you to sit down and figure out what you want to be known for.
What do you want to help people with?
This will set you up for building a strong foundation for your brand.
