How to build your business using social media.
Many people have the goal to work from home. They want to be their own boss, have financial freedom and be there for their family. How do you get there? What is the secret? Why is it that only a few people are able to make this a reality for their life?
First you need to remember that everyone starts from somewhere. All successful people had their beginning. They don’t have more time in a day, they don’t have special powers. They are real people just like you who put the time and work in to make their dream happen.
Direct sales companies take time and effort to make them work. These companies are build around networking with others. There are thousands of people selling the same products as you, so you need to stand out and develop relationships with people that will connect with you. Being human will bring people towards you. Unlike big businesses, you don’t have a report with anyone yet and you need to brand yourself to develop it.
The more clarity that you develop about yourself, the stronger you will attract people. Personally, I love to see others succeed and do well. That’s a very general audience. Not everyone is going to want to talk with me. So I have to narrow it down. I look at women who want to be entrepreneurs, and build their own businesses using social media. That’s still a very broad category of people. I narrow it down to those who are new in their business or struggling in their business, and that use Facebook to build their business. This is still a smaller group than I was focusing on, but this can get even smaller. I can connect with those who have health and wellness businesses, and who love hiking and being outdoors. Being focused on a specific group of people will make your connections develop more easily.
Building your business on social media does take time. It will not grow over night by throwing pictures of products everywhere. There are some people who may get some business from this, but to develop a solid core of customers you need to get to know them.
When building your business on social media, you want your profile to attract your audience. This is not done through posting your products. This is through providing value to others. Be motivational, provide information that can help them, and share your life. People like when you are human first.
Be careful with your profile though! Is that person who sent you a friend request going to think that they want any part o your business, or should you save that room for someone who you may profit from? Be intentional about your actions and think them through. How many people on your friends list were added because you were trying to get them to buy your products, but they won’t even interact with you? Is it worth your time to try to build a relationship with someone who doesn’t have an interest in what you have to offer?
Building your business on social media can be fun and rewarding. Remember to develop true connections and be genuine when you talk with people.
